Continuing its tradition of "Building a Better World," Richport Properties helped the City of Suwanee celebrate the opening of the Town Center Park fountain during Suwanee's Big Splash, Saturday, June 17.
Also during the afternoon event, Richport presented the proceeds from its benefit Hurricane House to the mayor of Long Beach, Miss., Suwanee's sister city that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Richport, along with vendors, contractors and other companies in the building industry donated time and supplies to build the Hurricane Relief House.
"Helping Suwanee celebrate such a milestone as the opening of the long-awaited fountain as well presenting the money from the Hurricane House to our Mississippi neighbors is a continuation of our corporate philosophy of building a better world at Richport Properties," said Lee Williams, Vice President of Communities and Marketing for Richport Properties. "We hope Saturday will mark the beginning of brighter days in Long Beach. Richport and the City of Suwanee have been blessed, so we're happy to give back to a community that needs help."
The Big Splash kickoff began at 1 p.m. with the dedication of the fountain, which is the largest interactive fountain in Gwinnett County. The celebration continued throughout the afternoon with children's inflatable rides, sponsored by Richport during Big Splash. Throughout the afternoon and night, families had the opportunity to help Suwanee with art projects, participate in silent and live auctions and enjoy entertainment from various local bands.
"The City of Suwanee is grateful to Richport Properties for being a generous partner in assisting the community of Long Beach," said Suwanee Mayor Nick Masino. "I admire Richport's corporate generosity and deep concern for community, both here in Suwanee and in Long Beach."

A highlight of the festivities will be when Richport Properties presents proceeds from the Hurricane Relief House to Long Beach, Miss., Mayor Billy Skellie. Richport broke ground on the house, which was located in historic Suwanee's Stonecypher community, in November. With the help of many partners in the building community, Richport's profit from the sale was $30,560, and all of these funds will be given to Long Beach to continue the recovery process from the hurricane's destruction.
